Tizzy for Izzy

We beat the Reds in the first game of our series. We have Molina back and Rolen. He got an early work out with numerous grounders to 3rd base. Smurf Thompson did okay tonight but the on-air mouthed "SHIT" when the home run was hit against him was uncalled for. I said the same thing, but it was uncalled for. Great, we beat the worst team in baseball. Even the free moustache give aways didn't help them.

Izzy, Izz, Izzy. Someone put that old mare down, please. We only had a two run lead and he almost lost it for us again. What do we have to prove putting him on the mound in the 9th? He is a has been Met reject and after 20 arm replacement surjuries, Dr. Kevorkian needs to be called for a "diagnosis". We have the pitchers now, not all good, but we have them. Let him ride out his contract and lets not let him lose some games for us. I know he got the save, but putting two runners on base in the 9th and a decent hitter at the plate made my sphincter pucker.

On a good note, I watched in awe when Albert Pujols hit a double. That cow actually ran to second before the ball got there. Thats a web gem.

What goes around, comes around!

Great game today. After two double digit losses to the A's, we turned the tables on them and had two double digit wins. What a father's day present, not as good as my BFF's. I saw pictures. WOW!! Anyway, Reyes is back and he is looking ok. Not what we want in a starter, but ok for now. Victory came in the seventh, with 4 runs scored and the lead that we didn't give up. We are 6.5 GOF along side the Cubs. I have a bet at work with the Cub Fan. He thinks they will win the Division. I wonder how long the Brewers can hang on? Good ending to a series and look forward to another date with the Royals.

WainwRIGHT!!!

That's more like it!!! Wainwright pitched an excellent game tonight! Eight scoreless innings, 66 strikes on 110 pitches and 2 walks against 28 batters. This boy ate his Wheaties. He gave us a World Series performance. I like it when there is a W in the win/loss column. Now that the happy dance is over, let's not forget that we need all of our pitching staff to buckle down and throw good games. We have the ability. We just cant turn around a bad early performance. A game is not won till the 9th and anything can happen. Plus, I was going to have a "Lone Met Fan" style, titty baby fit if the Royals swept us. I mean, come on. Better hitting tonight as well. Not up to par for getting us to the post-season. We were knocked down a position by the Cubs but we are on their tails.

Thompson is still a smurf.

Brad Thompson is a smurf!!

Back at the hacienda this for this game. It's nice to actually watch the Cards get their butts handed to them. I think twice even the bat-boy went up to LaRussa with an ass in his hand and said, " is this yours Mr. LaRussa?" Brad Thompson??, this 2 year old gelding needs to grow a patch before he starts again. Hell, Reyes was pitching better than that. Send his ass to AAA Memphis. I think the Zephyr's need him. He hit two freakin batters in the FIRST!!!!! and with three hits (freakin Rolen missed every one of 'em) Bam!!! its 5 to zip. His pitching was a total lack of confidence and experience. I think 80% of all the Cardinals fans could pitch better.

How about the fantastic diving catch Duncan made in the first? You know the one? Yeah the one he MISSED because ho was 10 feet away from it. Trying to get a Web Gem there dumb-ass? Whatch the ball go into the glove, not fly by you as runs are scored.

Have you ever noticed Alberta Pujols runs like a mad Buffalo? Get to first you peanut eatin elephant.

By the way, Cpt. Sweeney for the Royals is short for Captain S(mall)weeney.

New reliever Andy Cavazos worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out five. Good job!!

Goldielocks Flores was the talk but he didn't even pitch. Fag!

TANGENT!

Good job to Verlander on his No-hitter!!! Thats why he's on my Fantasy Team!

I hope smurfette is traded or optioned down to Mexico!

That's a bunch of Bull (pen)!

Not that starting a series with a +.500 team with Kipper Wells on the hill was going to be good, I expected blunt force trauma to our team with Wells going to loss #11 early. I found the Cards game on my mp3 player/fm tuner and listened horribly as a four run lead went to 1, then to -5, then to-4, -5 again, then lose 6-10. I love this game. I love the Cardinals. I hate losing because of lack of pitching. The old saying is "win as a team, lose as a team", well I'm tellin' ya one guy can totally screw his teammates out of a win. Usually that guy is the pitcher, and our pitchers suck. All of you know The Cardinal Fan can't believe Looper is still the best thing we got. LOOPER! Wankwright is hurt boo-freakin-hoo. Sent his ass to AAA Memphis and make them lose for a while. I think Walt Jocketty puts names in a hat and makes Fredbird pick em out for roster changes. If the guy is freakin hurt, give him a chance to get better,. Don't make him perform (badly) at the end of physical therapy just to see familiar faces on the line-up. I check the Depth-chart on the official site daily for changes and transactions and new deals. I could wipe my butt for a year with the paper I use to jot new names down. Holy freakin crap.

Announcer...
"Pujols up to bat... swing and it's good....it's gone. Three home run for Pujols......"

- LATER -

"Eckstein on second, Miles on first, Taguchi at the plate......Line drive triple for Taguchi...."

GOOD LEAD RIGHT?

- LATER -

'......(insert any Cardinals Pitcher's name here) on the mound....walked 50 runners in one inning.....32 wild pitches..............2 strikes....... 10 base-hits............ 7 home runs..........."

You tell me that one freakin guy can't lose a game for his team.

I now step off the soapbox

PS. I still love the Cardinals.

Still 6 GOF

This week The Cardinal Fan is on vacation from work. The family went to see my in-laws in Arkansas. Thought maybe the Cards would be on every channel there. NOPE! Had to watch tonights game on MLB.com's Gameday screen. Not very exciting but the last 1/2 of the ninth did have me on the edge of my seat. Miles has a base-hit. Eckstein sacrifice bunts, and a wild pitch by Coutlangus sees Miles to third. Duncan gets replaced by Taguchi and 10, count 'em 10 pitches later, we have a base-hit running in Miles for the win. Not a Pujols walk-off like we all want but good enough for this fan. The Cubs game was on in Arkansas (WGN) so I watched (very little) to see if they could help us by waxing the Cervesaros for us. No such luck. The Brewers win, but so do we, leaving us 6 GOF in the NLC for another day.

On a good note, Mets lose to Phillies in game one. Ha ha LMF. Your team sucks. I know because you said it yourself.

Magic 8

Seems like 8 is our magic number with the Ass-tr-hoes. If we score 8 runs, we win. But if they score 8-runs, well you know. Today's game started out right with "Spark Plug" hitting a homer on the first at-bat. We had 4 unanswered runs until the 6th. Pujols hit TWO, count 'em TWO Molina style home-runs. One thing I have never seen before (you may have) was Isringhausen catching a ball up his sleeve, and still dropping it. It still was a funny sight. Thought we were going to lose it at the tie, but after the top of the 10th, I knew we had it. GO REDBIRDS!!!! Came back from cellar dwelling to second in the division. Even though we are 6.5 GOF, we still have a chance come October.
